Carer’s Play Group
Snap, Crackle and Pop
The Snap, Crackle and Pop carer play group has put on three original sell-out shows so far. All the cast are carers who look after loved ones with alcohol or substance misuse problems. We welcome new members and participation in the play group has been shown to improve health, well-being, team work and offer a much needed respite from caring. Wasted – This was our first production and explored the experiences of caring for and living with substance misusers. It was performed to sell out crowds in the ARC Stockton. Our Stockton, Our Story – Our second production looked at the history of Stockton on Tees and highlighted the good old days whilst showing that community spirit is still alive and well. Rehab – Our third production focused on the experience of Rehab, the struggles and challenges faced by people trying to overcome addiction and maintain recovery. Stars Fell On Stockton – In Production. This play is due to be performed in early 2015. It focuses on the day the Beatles played the Stockton Globe on 22nd November 1963, the same day JFK was shot.
